Piazza BarigauÓru víu

Our renovation of Ulassai's Barigau Plaza (in Sardinia) enhance the qualities of urban green areas: delimited but yet spontaneous, they link the town center to its surrounding nature. The project titled "óru víu", means "living edge" in the local dialect and recalls the Italian term "oro" (gold), referring to the cultural and social wealth capable of generating new economic value through the interactivity offered by the place. The presence of Maria Lai's artwork becomes the widespread matrix and declined to the specific situations, allowing the expansion of a bigger ecosystem.

The EDGE becomes active space and permeable filter ensuring full accessibility to the square, thus defining a new level of fruition of the plaza.
