The renovation of a flat in a building from the 50’s in Turin adapts the space to a contemporary way of living with limited interventions.Minimum demolitions maximise the connection between the living area and the kitchen with natural light coming throughout the all apartment. The existing layout was divided into small rooms linked by a large blind corridor. The kitchen is designed as a large central furniture allowing continuous circulation around it, still with the possibility of being divided from the living space.
The central element of the kitchen constitutes the fulcrum of the space: it houses two sliding glass doors that separate it from the living room and, near the entrance, a lower element that become a containing bench to welcome guests.
To maximise the continuity of the space and enhance the distribution of light, the kitchen doors have been designed as full-height, fully concealed doors. Furthermore, the floors - with the exception of the two bedrooms where the original parquet flooring has been renovated - have been covered with avio blue tiles.
All the furniture, bathroom cabinets and mirrors are custom made with bespoke details.
